Two Western Fence Lizards doing a courtship dance. Notice the bright blue color display of the male. This gives them the common name Bluebelly Lizards.

They usually don't look this puffed up... it is all part of the display. :) I would love to see a picture of one of your lizards, if you have any... I always find it interesting to see wildlife from different places.

Ok :)

This [link] will take you to a photo by one of my friends of the Maltese lizard. (we do have more than 1 type of lizard but they are rather similar if I am not mistaken)

Matthew, another friend of mine, has some excellent wildlife shots. I am sure you will enjoy his gallery [link]

That is a very nice photo of hers, and yes I do like your other friend's wildlife gallery too. We do have some other lizards that are smoother and look a bit more like yours... but our fence lizards are more common around here.

:) I knew you would enjoy them
Are the fence lizards scared of people? Our lizards go into hiding if we get too close

Be nice to everyone!

Well, I'm not really the right person to judge that by... animals are seldom afraid of me. ;) They do run away with any sudden motion, but it is easy to get within about a meter of them if you approach quietly. And they have a great deal of curiosity... sometimes they will come closer to look at you. :)

Then they seem to be rather similar to our lizards in that respect :)
I guess animals can sense who likes them and who does not :D
