When you plant native plants, you help local wildlife populations to recover, feed the birds (even when you are not home) and get to see more local creatures (including butterflies) come to your yard for a visit. Give it a try... Native plants can be just as beautiful as common garden varieties, but they are already adapted to your local climate, so you save on watering too.
